I have been a patient of Dr. Smith’s for over 20 years and have always been highly impressed and thankful, for her knowledge and expertise in the field of Ophthalmology, as well as her ability to communicate my problems in an understandable and compassionate way.

Dr. Smith’s fellowship training in Glaucoma and Ocular Pathology make her the “Go To” referral Ophthalmologist for many eye professionals in the East Texas region, especially in the areas of Glaucoma and Cataract surgery. Which is how I ended up in her care, many years ago.

Doctor Smith’s practice is well staffed, with certified, efficient and caring eye care professionals. The facilities have a new, modern, well appointed look and feel, and is as clean as any physicians office I’ve have ever encountered, which makes visiting the clinic a very pleasant experience, for patient, family and friends.

I have had very successful eye surgery at Dr. Smith’s state-of-the art, Medical Arts Surgery Center, which is her on-site, out-patient, ambulatory surgery center. I have also purchased glasses, at Benchmark Optical, Dr. Smiths on-site optical dispensary, which again, offers a truly top-notch service.

I cannot recommend Dr. Shannon L. Smith, Cataract, Glaucoma & Retina Consultants of East Texas, Medical Arts Surgery Center and Benchmark Optical highly enough. East Texas is truly fortunate to have this high caliber eye care facility available to them, for all of their eye care needs. Five Stars+.

I have been using Dr. Shannon for many years. She was the only one who could work on my severly damaged eye. She is extremely knowledgeable and a fine person who really cares about what is going on with YOU personally. After seeing as many as 20 other doctors, she was the one who cold do all the work that needed to be done. Trust her completely with ANY eye problem. If she does not specialize in your field she will find someone very good who can. She also is the nicest doctor I know. She is my husbands eye doctor as well.

I had Uveitis Iritis several years ago. My glaucoma test yielded scores over 40. Dr. Shannon performed surgery on both eyes. This was probably back in the late 1980’s. I have never had a high glaucoma test again. Thank You, Dr. Shannon
